Everybody say his own Kyrie Eleison, doin' the Vatican Rag!

I have no idea why I agree to go get dinner when the kids come along. It always ends in headache. Always.

Glad I finally got that weekly challenge in Reach done. Not that it was hard, just... time-consuming. Very, very time-consuming. Involved playing a certain amount every day for a week. Could've been done earlier if I stuck to that idea, but. The idea was 50 rounds of Firefight, which is five waves of increasingly tougher enemies. I find that about seven matches and I'm done, which worked out well. It also helps that one variant is the oft-mentioned jetpacks and rocket launchers.

The more I play, the more I realize that I've got a really good chance of actually finishing this game up, assuming I play the rank system enough to get up to the higher echelons.

Katamari Damacy is one of those games that sounds utterly retarded when you try to describe it. You're a giant sticky ball of Handwavium, and the point of the game is to roll up stuff, stick it to your ball, and eventually grow large enough to become a star. (To be fair, Tetris sounds retarded when you try to describe it: Blocks fall, everyone dies and you try to make solid lines to make them disappear to give yourself more room.)

Katamari's fun is that it's so simple. Aside from knowing when you're big enough to roll up the next biggest item, it's just roll around, have fun, and as you get larger, revisit those areas and terrorize roll up all the bigger items. Also in that they reuse the levels: when you're 5cm in diameter, the kitchen table is its own level; when you're 80cm, it's just Part One. The world keeps getting bigger and you soon realize it's all connected.

Really, this isn't something I can describe well at all. It's an absolute blast to play and everyone should play it.
